The first one was fantastic, Melee was awesome and then some, Brawl just felt like Melee with a few minuscule additions.

Yeah there was a story mode, but it was tedious as fuck. >.<

Personally, I loved Brawl. I don't see what you mean by just Melee with a few miniscule additions, because there was so much that they added. New characters and what not so yeah... Oh and Brawl would have to be my favorite smash brothers game.

I felt the minuscule additions were detrimental, so yeah. I dunno maybe it's just me, it's not like Brawl is a bad game though. Just not something I'm fond of.

Yes, yes you are. Supspace was absolutely terrible. The levels were boring, and it was too long. The only good parts were the cutscenes.

Realistically, its gotta be Brawl because it has pretty much everything the others have and more. The only things it lacks are most of the stages from the previous games (although a lot of them have new counterparts anyway), and very few characters, most of whom were just clones anyway - except Mewtwo. The only problem with Brawl is that they replaced Mewtwo with Lucario, but that's still kind of understandable anyway.

I've only ever played Brawl (but my dad got an N64 emulator for the Wii, so I might see if I can get the original). I really don't see what all the hate is about.
