Can someone invent a bank robbing item?  :P

It's possible, but I'm not going to do it :P

Hmm...
I guess it's every man for himself them. 8)

I'm still considering contests or rewards for people's achievements at WiKirby. Some way to give niwas as a gift. Like for someone's 1000th edit, send them some niwas.

Tucayo

I was giving 5000 niwas to the first non-admin who got the full Card Collection, but no one has claimed the prize.

When I attempted a small website of my own, the service I used came with a store package. There were a lot of features. Some of them though were way too powerful to give to normal members. I don't know what is available here and that just wasn't used, but here's the effects that were available for items there, that I don't see in place here:

  • Buy a password to a hidden forum (non-staff)
  • View another user's warning level.
  • Change any member's title.
  • Decrease another member's bank interest.
  • Unban a user.
  • Temp ban a user.
  • Change a user's signature.
  • Change a user's avatar.
  • Get random item.
  • Text effect added to username.
  • Add to own post count.
  • Close/open own topic.
  • Close/open any topic.
  • Increase bank interest rate.

As you can see, some of them are far too powerful to give to normal users. But some, like the bank interest one, should be good.
They look cool, well, some. If you have the link to the mod, I could install them

It was exclusive to the service. They don't offer it to others.

I can code some of those into the shop. It's very easy to create new items. Just tell me which ones you want.

If anyone has any common sense, I'm guessing they'd want the increase bank interest, random item, and maybe the close/open own topic (not sure on that one though). The text effect one worked on mine because it was small, not sure if it'd work here because the colors for the groups are important and people adjusting their own colors is counterproductive.

These are the ones I think would work

    * Buy a password to a hidden forum (non-staff) - Amazing, should be expensive
    * View another user's warning level. - I dont get it
    * Change any member's title. - No
    * Decrease another member's bank interest. - Cool
    * Unban a user. - No way
    * Temp ban a user. - No
    * Change a user's signature. - No
    * Change a user's avatar. - No
    * Get random item. - Cool
    * Text effect added to username. - Could work, as long as it is regulated
    * Add to own post count. - I wouldn't like this
    * Close/open own topic. - People can already close it, and if they closed it, they can open it
    * Close/open any topic. - No
    * Increase bank interest rate. - Yea

Some of these won't even work. I know of forums that have password protected boards, but not SMF. Although some of these items could seemingly work universally.

Here's the available, non-color,  effects for the text effects that that store had:

  • Bold
  • Italic
  • Drop Shadow
  • Shadow
  • Blur
  • Glow

I'll get to work on these tomorrow. Today, I'm preoccupied.

The bank description says there's a 2% interest rate. At that rate it would take at least 50 NIWAs before you'd see anything from it. But from the list of richest bank members, for those who have more than enough to see gain from 2%, it's sometimes the same amount for days, obviously no interest gained. Is the interest functional? It doesn't seem to be. I doubt they're just withdrawing the daily gain.

Beginning my work today.

Here's a list for how this will go down:

*Password to hidden forum: We will have to create a hidden forum. I believe SMF offers the option to password protect a forum, so you'll have to deal with the forum creation. I will create the shop item.
*Bank interest: The bank interest rate is not used for individual members. It is a universal thing.
*Get random item: Very easy; all I have to do is get the current items and use rand((lower limit), (upper limit)); to pick an item.
*Text effect: Possible. I'll look into it.

Note that I'm not at home and have only about 1.5-2.5 hours of computer access each day, so this will take a little bit more time than usual for a small program.

Excellent! I'm glad the interest thing is universal, for individuals, I could see it as a nuisance.

How exactly does the interest rate work? I'm pretty confused.

Also, I think "Random Money" doesn't work if the value is negative and you don't have enough niwas in your pocket to lose. I keep only getting positive amounts, but around half the time I get database errors. I feel like I'm cheating, kinda...

As in, say that the random value is set to -150, so you're supposed to lose 150. But if you have 0 niwas in your pocket, then it won't work, and you won't get -150 niwas.

It apparently doesn't. I never get it anyway.

I notice my bank amount going up. Maybe it doesn't work if you don't have enough in the bank (below 50, 2% is less than 1)?

Tucayo

Yes, each day you'll gain 2% of the amount of money you have in the bank. But, as Toomain said, for small quantities, it is pretty unnoticeable.

Moydow

I have 435.45 niwas in the bank, and that's never changed (2% of that is about 8.7). In fact, it's never changed for anyone on the "10 richest members (Bank)" list.
