When ever I try to get a score of "999" on an easy microgame, I always end up quiting. The furthest I've ever gotten was at around 735 at that one game where you extend the elephant's trunk, dog's lower body, etc.

[You can skip most of it for obvious reasons.]

@Austin: I managed to get 999 only twice, once in Touched with the yarn spinning (took me about 1 1/2 hours) and in the GC one (MegaParty Games?) I got 999 on Button Masher. My thumb was throbbing though...
