Some of your suggestions were really good. Here are some characters that I want that you didn't name:

Tails (Sonic)
Waluigi (Wario)
Little Mac (Punch-Out!!)
Mega Man (Mega Man)
Pac-Man (Pac-Man)
Balloon Fighter (Balloon Fighter)
Stanley the Bugman (Donkey Kong 3)

I could actually imagine any of these making the cut. Tails, Waluigi, and Little Mac are already assist trophies. Capcom said they would have loved for Mega Man to be in SSBB. Pac-Man has already been a playable character in Mario Kart. Balloon Fighter and Stanley the Bugman are retro characters that could be revived like others in the past (Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, Pit).

I would also say Toad, but Nintendo seems to limit their characters to four per franchise. Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Bowser are untouchable as far as inclusion go.

I don't like the exclusion of other Fire Emblem characters, though.  Ike should stay for sure, and I'd like to see them add a character from another class; a mage perhaps.  Although I see where you're coming from, it would be weird to have Roy as a part of Marth's final smash, considering they come from two completely different worlds.
