The Controller Pak (Japanese: コントローラパック) is an accessory for the Nintendo 64 controller that allows the player to save game data on to a battery-powered memory card. It has a capacity of 123 pages and with a 16 save file limit. Each game can use a different number of pages to store data. Some games require a Controller Pak to save data, while others use the internal memory of the cartridge. The Controller Pak can be inserted or removed from the controller only when the console is turned off, unless the game instructs otherwise.
