Pokémon GO Plus is a peripheral device developed and manufactured by Nintendo for use with Pokémon GO. Originally planned to be released at the end of July 2016, the release was pushed back to September.[1]
Functionality
Pokémon GO Plus connects to a player's mobile device over a Bluetooth signal. The device uses an LED and vibration technology to alert the player to in-game events; it will flash when a Pokémon is nearby, and will flash and vibrate when a PokéStop is near[2]. Pokémon GO Plus can also be used in the game itself; by pressing the LED as a button when a Pokémon is nearby, the player can attempt to catch the Pokémon if it is one they have caught before; the device will flash and vibrate if the catch is successful.[2] The player can also press the button near a Pokéstop to see the items.[2]
The user can wear this device either by clipping it onto clothing, or by putting it on a wristband.
