The Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter.

The Nintendo GameCube Controller Adapter is an accessory for the Wii U that allows for players to use Nintendo GameCube Controllers with Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, the only compatible software. It was released on November 21, 2014, alongside the game and a special edition Super Smash Bros. Nintendo GameCube controller, as well as a bundle featuring all three.

The adapter uses two USB cables, the black cable providing general power and the gray one providing the rumble feature[1], and has four controller ports. It supports all Nintendo GameCube controllers, including the Wavebird Wireless Controller and the DK Bongos.
