Gameplay

In Octopus Dance, the player must match the dance movements of a scuba diver, who says "one, two, three" in accordance with the beat. The fourth beat switches from the scuba diver to the player, where they must match those movements exactly. Depending on how accurate the movements are, a different circular icon appears on the screen. If the player did not provide the necessary movements shown off by the scuba diver, a gray, broken heart symbol is displayed. If their movements were entirely correct, a golden "Perfect" icon appears, with the octopus on it. If more than one Perfect is completed in a row, then additional "combo" text shows how many perfect the player got in a row. The player has 4 hearts rotating around them on the ground at the beginning of the game, and every time they make a wrong move, they lose a heart revolving around them. Hearts can only be recovered if another player points the Wii Remote at the screen and collects a heart that appears only on the TV occasionally. If the player loses all of their hearts, the octopus comes out of the background and grabs the player, resulting in the "Game Over" banner to display on both screens.
