(The words "star" and "planet" are actually the same in Japanese. From the game, we know that it is referring to the five planets that the player explores, the alignments of which are a mechanic of the battle system.)

The Magical Starsign series, also known as the Magical Vacation series is a series of role-playing games by Brownie Brown.

Magical Starsign is the name of the international localisation of the Nintendo DS game, otherwise known as Magical Vacation: 5-tsu no Hoshi ga Narabu Toki (Magical Vacation: When the Five Planets Align). However, in Western localisations of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the series is still referred to as the Magical Vacation series.

The games feature the adventures of students of the Will-o'-Wisp academy of magic. The "starsign" mechanic affects the strengths of team members in battle.
