The Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console Game Boy Color non-Restore Point emulator, also known as the newer emulator (Game Boy Color) is an official Game Boy Color emulator for Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console, without Restore Point support but with multiplayer support only between two Nintendo 3DS family consoles of the same (or compatible) region running the same game.

Game Boy Color bootstrap ROM support exists of sorts, so Pokémon Crystal and Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions (Korean) are in an accurate color, but there is no Game Boy Color start-up screen.

A hidden setting allows the player to add an original Game Boy Color border.

This emulator was only officially used for Pokémon Crystal Version and Pokémon Gold and Silver (Korean versions only).

This emulator supports Poké Transporter and Pokémon Bank.

Technical details/emulation errors

Game Boy Camera, Hello Kitty Pocket Camera and Net de Get: Minigame @100 (i.e. MBC6) are not supported nor are peripherals such as Work Boy, Full Changer, etc. but this was not needed.

It seems based on finds by dataminers that a modification of Mobile System GB support for at least Pokémon Crystal Version was planned but cancelled. Instead, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures, Inc. and The Pokémon Company decided to implement one of the Celebi events, involving Kurt (via Pokémon Center nurse GS Ball gift); yet not in Japan (hence only the unused script to receive it in the Pokémon Center is now used), after defeating the Pokémon League, becoming Champion, and the first registered clear. This will set a flag in the emulator. (it's currently not known what will happen if the Hall of Fame SRAM glitch otherwise resetting before the credits is abused here)

There is a glitch only in the Virtual Console versions documented by LadyKrimZen to mass clone Pokémon involving Poké Transporter/Pokémon Bank. Potentially was it patched(?).

In order to get multiplayer to work on Pokémon Crystal, the ROMs was hacked. There is a new Touch Screen interface for multiplayer.

As Game Boy Printer is not supported, Pokémon Crystal ROMs are patched to remove 'dummy-out' (some of) the code.

Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions (Korean) is the Daewon Media version, as expected. However, obtaining Generation I trade-only Pokémon now seems to be impossible without any glitches(?), because of the newly introduced region-lock to other languages of Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions. There has never been any official (at least public) release of Pokémon Gold and Silver Versions in Korean.
