History

The Inazuma Eleven game series had its first video games released in Japan in 2008, based upon and following the events of its respective anime. A new entry in the series was released every subsequent year, all of which developed by Level-5. Level-5 published the games in Japan. In 2011, The Inazuma Eleven anime was dubbed for European audiences and broadcast on Cartoon Network, and the first game in the series was released in Europe accordingly. The entire series prior to the release of Inazuma Eleven GO was released in Europe. One day before Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks! was released in Europe, the series finally débuted in North America, with a Nintendo Shop release of the original game. Some episodes of the anime also became available to watch on the eShop.

The Inazuma Eleven Strikers series on Wii allowed players to participate in Inazuma Eleven-style association football matches on Wii. The games were comparable to Super Mario Strikers, and its sequel Mario Strikers Charged.
