Purpose of this template?

It does nothing complex, which is why I haven't seen it used on any templates or categories on other wikis. All I think it does is save some text space on the expense of using a template just to do that (max 2 cats). I'd rather have all pages categorize the common way [[Category:Cat|Sortkey]]. --Viperision (talk) 13:28, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
