Forums

Hey, by chance, are you on the NIWA fourms? if so, what is your profile? (if you don't mind me asking) Tacopill (Talk) 00:00, 9 August 2011 (UTC).

Yes, I do have an account there, although I haven't used it much at all since I signed up. My username there is the same as it is here. Tinsatu 05:21, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Sounds Good. The reason i ask, is that i have been watching your contributions, and i have to say i am impressed. Would you be interested in a position on the staff? (it's not up to me, but i could give a recommendation of you to the user who it is up to). Tacopill (Talk) 14:00, 9 August 2011 (UTC).
Sure, I'd be glad to have some position on the staff. Tinsatu 23:51, 9 August 2011 (UTC)
Sounds good. If you haven't already, you should be receiving PM's on the forums soon. Tacopill (Talk) 16:05, 13 August 2011 (UTC).
Which should be now. :P Please check your PM box in the NIWA forums under your account dear to-be staff member. --RAP 02:04, 16 August 2011 (UTC)

feedback

Hey, when you get a chance, can you take a look at {{HelpNav2}} and give me some feedback? Thank you ahead of time, Tacopill (Talk) 15:46, 14 August 2011 (UTC).

It looks pretty good to me, but I have a couple of questions: why is it set to automatically put pages into Category:Pokémon series? Also, why is it categorized as a Pokémon template? Other than that, I think this template would be very useful. Tinsatu 17:03, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
The Pokémon stuff is left over from the {{Pokémon series}} template i used to start off with. I will remove it now.
Also, would you be interested in writing any of the pages linked there?
Tacopill (Talk) 19:34, 15 August 2011 (UTC).
I might want to work on the pages about user rights at some point, but my top priority right now is focusing on pages in the mainspace. Tinsatu 23:02, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
Alright then. Sounds good. Tacopill (Talk) 15:26, 21 August 2011 (UTC).

Sysopism!

Yo dude, sorry for the notable delay - but you're now promoted to sysop. Congrats! Oh, and please check your PM box over at the NIWA forums. --RAP 11:18, 4 September 2011 (UTC)

Woo! congrats! Tacopill (Talk) 14:53, 4 September 2011 (UTC).
Wow, I wasn't expecting this when I woke up this morning. Thanks, you guys. Tinsatu 21:15, 4 September 2011 (UTC)
Not a problem. :) If you need any help with the new powers, don't be afraid to ask one of us. Tacopill (Talk) 21:23, 4 September 2011 (UTC).

Feedback please

After much work, I am proud to present for your feedback, this template - {{Related Games}}. So...what do you think about it? Tacopill (Talk) 04:28, 16 October 2011 (UTC).

To be honest with you, I'm not a huge fan of this template for several reasons. First of all, most of the phrases used in the left column are awkwardly worded; for example, "Super Mario Bros. 2 has a successor game to Super Mario Bros." just doesn't sound right when you read it out loud. Secondly, I think this template has way too many parameters, and some of them seem too uncommon to be useful. There aren't that many video games that have a partner game (other than the Pokémon games), or that were later released as a mini-game or a microgame. And third, I'm not convinced that this template is even necessary in the first place, as most of the things covered in this template could more easily be described in text, like on the article Ball for instance. Tinsatu 00:41, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
  1. Yea...I was actually hoping the to have help in the grammar, wording, etc. area. ^^. Language is my weakest area, which is why I stick to templates. Anyway, feel free to reword as you see fit.
  2. Many of the parameters are probably redundant, since I tried to hit all possible words I can think of, and allow the editors to choose which words they wish to use (hence why there is "successor" and "predecessor"). As far as the uncommon ones, they can be dropped in favor of the "others"...and the "others" can be expanded as need.
  3. See #1. Me - Bad with grammar. Good with Templates. :).
Tacopill (Talk) 21:08, 20 October 2011 (UTC).
I understand that language is not your forte, but even though it may be easier for you to use this template to describe things, it may not be so easy to use for other users. Language happens to be one of my stronger areas, and I actually find it much easier to just write in normal sentences rather than using this template. Like I said before, the things covered in this template should be implemented into the text of an article, and I'm still not convinced about the overall necessity of this template. Tinsatu 23:31, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for your understanding. And sorry if I am being a pain. It's just, I work hard on this stuff, trying to include everything I think will be useful and then get feedback from sources outside and inside the wiki.
Which presents a predicament for me. I value outsider's opinions, as they represent a more unbiased view from the perspective of an ordinary viewer. At the same time, I value insider's (like yourself) opinion because they (you) put in a lot of effort helping expand the wiki. And now... the two sides conflict. Outsiders say they like it, insiders say they don't. So...what do we do?
After thinking about that for a while, I do have an idea: If you can create the idea represented by the template (as was done in Ball) and help remove the use of the template, I will remove the template itself, the rest of its uses and stop pushing for it.
Also, if you get a chance, please send me and email at [email protected]. Got an idea I wish to talk to you about.

Interlanguage and Skype

Hey, I was wondering if you had an opinion on this page along with the related changes and a new related template. Also, was wondering if you have Skype username. Tacopill (Talk) 21:47, 23 October 2011 (UTC).

The page you linked to looks fine to me, as well as the other related changes. And no, I don't have a Skype account.
Also, as you requested in the last section, I'll try to send you an e-mail sometime later today as my time is a bit limited right now. Tinsatu 11:04, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Sounds good. And sorry If I am being a bother. Tacopill (Talk) 19:20, 24 October 2011 (UTC).
