The San.o Shokuhin (サンオー食品株式会社) was a three company consortium in the 1960s, between Nintendo, the University of Kyoto and the Omikenshi Company. Inspired by Nissin's Cup Noodle, Nintendo formed as part of this consortium to produce their own food products like Popeye Ramen.[1]
