Splatoon 3 is an online-based shooter game for Nintendo Switch, and the third game in the Splatoon series. It was announced via a Nintendo Direct on February 17, 2021.[2]

Story
Set 5 years after the events of Splatoon 2,[3] Splatoon 3 acts as a continuation of both prior games.

The Splatoon 3 Splatfest World Premiere was a demo where players could participate in the Rock vs. Paper vs. Scissors Splatfest and try some of the new weapons and stages.[4]

The Splatoon 3: Expansion Pass has two waves. The first wave, Inkopolis, was released on February 28, 2023. It includes the hub area Inkopolis Plaza, returning from Splatoon.[5] The second wave, Side Order, was released on February 22, 2024.[6] It features a new roguelite style single-player campaign.
