Game Builder Garage is a Nintendo Switch game developed and published by Nintendo.[1]
Gameplay
Game Builder Garage is a continuation of the "Toy-Con Garage VR" portion of Nintendo Labo: VR Kit, but more strictly; Nintendo have experimented with many development or creation tools in the past (see external links).
The game is software for players to program and create their own video games, albeit limited by Nodes, each with their own special anthropomorphized character called a Nodon to make the experience more appealing (for example, the Stick Nodon is its own character for conditions that require the Nintendo Switch's Joy-Con stick). There is also a limit on amount of Nodons the player can have in one game.
Rather, according to Ask the Developer the developers wanted players to simply create "whatever they want", and the goal "is not to compete with games sold as products"[2], however it is possible to link multiple games together (e.g. one 'game' could be an individual level).
The game comes with interactive lessons designed to be user friendly.
