Fusajiro Yamauchi (formally Fusajirō Fukui/福井 房治郎) was the founder of Nintendo (then known as Marufuku Nintendo Card Co. or Nintendo Karuta in 1889.[1][2][3]

He was born in Kyoto, Japan in 1859 as the eldest son of Sosuke Fukui.[4]

Before forming Nintendo, he worked at the Haiko Cement Company.[5]

His successor was his son-in-law Sekiryo Kaneda.
