The Wii U GamePad.

The Wii U GamePad is the controller for the most recent Nintendo home console, the Wii U. It runs on rechargeable batteries, and has a stylus within it. An alternative to the Wii U GamePad that lacks the touchscreen exists in the form of the Wii U Pro Controller.

Features

The Wii U GamePad features a touchscreen, which can be used for exclusive features on a Wii U game, or can display entire specific Wii U games. The Wii U GamePad has a camera built into it, facing the player during gameplay. It also has Near-Field technology, which can recognise specific objects placed above it, similar to the Skylanders Power Pedestal. A TV button on the Wii U GamePad allows users to use the Wii U GamePad as a television remote, using the touchscreen to display numbers.Like the Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS, the Wii U GamePad also has a microphone built into it, which can record the user's voice.
