Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls are the two games making up the second installment of the Yo-kai Watch series. The two games were originally released in Japan in June 2014, and were later released in North America, once again localized by Nintendo, in September of 2016, after being announced at E3 2016. In Australia, the games were released in October, while in Europe they were released in April 2017.

In North America, copies of the game come with one of two exclusive Yo-kai Medals (depending on the version), which give Jibanyan a new Soultimate Move when scanned in-game.[4]

In Japan, a third version of the game, titled Yo-kai Watch 2: Shin'uchi, was released in December of 2014. This release builds upon and improves the new gameplay mechanics introduced in the other two versions. The third version is slated for release in 2017 in North America under the name Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters.
