"Meat:07—Kate & Karen" is the seventh episode of Meat or Die. It is the first episode that was released for the Nintendo Video app for the Nintendo 3DS, being released on the app on June 2, 2012.

Description

Yans and Gans try to eat a duo of hedgehog-like monsters, only to fail.

Plot

Yans and Gans are chasing Ines and her clones until a small, green hedgehog named Karen passes by. As the dinosaurs investigate, Karen has united with a large, cyan hedgehog named Kate. Yans and Gans start an attempt to eat them, only to get hurt by Kate, who manages to attack them by producing spikes. The two land into safety, and Gans convinces Yans that they must find another way to eat Kate and Karen. Yans grabs a rectangular stone and tries to throw it at them, only to fall down the stairs, leading Kate producing spikes again, this time to attack only him. When Yans lands into safety, Gans convinces him that they must find the third way to fill their bellies. Gans sneaks into Kate, who produces spikes in an attempt to stop him before retracting them, and manages to land on too of Kate; however, as he tries to eat her, she produces spikes to attack him, sending him flying. Yans retaliates by grabbing a wooden fence and whacking Kate with it, but the spikes have managed to protect her, leading him witnessing the result. Yans then finds a way to eat Kate and Karen. He grabs the flowers to lure them to him. Gans falls on top of Yans, and together, the two manage to grab Kate, only to be attacked by her spikes again. Gans lands on top of the stairway, but Yans lands on him, and Kate attacks them once again. As they end up flying, Gans comes up with an idea: he convinces Yans to throw a barrel at both Kate and Karen. Yans and Gans proceed to throw the barrel at them, but nothing works. Yans then picks up the barrel, puts it near the top of the stairway, and puts Gans in it. However, when Yans throws the barrel that Gans is contained in, Kate manages to attack the latter. As Yans tries to ask Gans, Karen attacks the former with her spikes.

Trivia

• The way Yans attempts to throw barrels at Kate and Karen is a reference to how Donkey Kong throws barrels at Mario in Donkey Kong.
