file size

Hello RAP, i was wondering if the file size limit could be increased to at least 5 MB? thank you, Tacopill 22:52, 5 October 2010 (UTC).

List of N Wiki concerns

  • Roundy incompatibility for for say all Internet Explorer versions (Seeing the Main Page under IE is uuuuugly... ;-;). IE9 will feature this, and HTML5 goodies. It's unknown when Microsoft will release the latest version. HOLD FOR TTE! DONE...?!
  • Template:I-gamecover (First licensing template I made).
    • Change it to "Template:License/Box Art".
      • If so, how will it be written?
    • Destory it! (Was it replaced?)
  • Left side/categories: There are two categories that don't belong there when shown at the left: "Category:Pages needing attention", and "Templates". IN PROGRESS!
    • Remove the coding that auto-lists all top categories, and manually add categories instead.
    • Remove it all together (similar to Wikipedia, or that the category links are on the main page)
  • Left side/NIWA: The list is growing bigger...! Might be a hassle on short pages (maybe), but the ads - that will.
    • Suggest moving the list somewhere else that can be still shown everytime you go to another page.
  • N Wiki itself - a hub for all NIWA wikis? Any idea on Mel's response? HMMM.
  • NintendoWiki:Article_structures (created by me) - they're very nice to follow.
    • Keep using them and update them (and adding new entries?)
  • N Wiki logo... where is it?!
    • Use the N Wiki logo Steve (of ZW) designed - that was like months ago.
    • Create a new logo by RAP (me)?
      • Improve the original design?
    • ...Or have Steve create a new design?
  • Pikmin Fanon logo - still doesn't have the white glow. DONEISH!!!
  • Wiki articles
    • Count as actual articles?
    • Or move to "NintendoWiki:" sub-section?
  • The NintendoWiki:Community portal has not been made, and even I didn't have plans for that when it started.
    • Seriously - any ideas?
  • NintendoWiki:Current_events - man, this hasn't been updated very much. It's siting there... just being there...
    • Use as check list? Oh come-on-come-on-come-on!
  • Anyone in N Wiki can edit (and I mean everyone, hence the anonymous users)
    • Keep anonymous users out of the wiki? (Follow the MarioWiki tradition)
  • Help pages are very incomplete... :(
    • HELP!!!!!!!!!!
  • Companies - companies or development?

Will be updated periodically. --RAP 02:14, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

(comment and talk here - if you have any sayings about this or wanted to know if the task is completed)

For the anonymous editors... mixed feelings on that one. Sometimes you can get good editors, but other times the amount of spam bots overtakes the amount of anon editors actually making constructive edits. Metroidking 21:52, 29 November 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. I prefer it to be read-only for anon users. Tacopill 23:22, 29 November 2010 (UTC).
However, there are some extensions that can prove quite effective in combatting spam from anonymous users.
  • Force Preview: Forces users below a certain group to preview edits before saving
  • Toggle Anon Rights: Allows anyone with "editinterface" rights to revoke certain permissions from anons
  • SpamBlacklist: Allows anyone with "editinterface" rights to blacklist certain links, causing the software to reject an edit that adds them
All these are being used by StrategyWiki to mostly good effect, so they shouldn't cause issues. Moydow 01:28, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
OOO!!! Could you add those to here? Tacopill 03:30, 30 November 2010 (UTC).
Uh... "Alphabet Story Game"? I think you meant the extensions thread, so I'll add them there instead. Moydow 11:11, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Ooops, sorry. Yes, The Extension request thread. Tacopill 19:20, 30 November 2010 (UTC).
