HuC-1 is an officially licensed Game Boy mapper chip and memory bank controller by Nintendo partner Hudson. There is more than one HuC in the series (HuC-3 is another).

New to the chip is infrared functionality in games that were released before the Game Boy Color (the monochrome Game Boys did not include an infrared port).
