What's happening at Nintendo & NIWA August 29, 2017 - Nintendo has announced that Miiverse will be shut down on November 7, 2017. August 8, 2017 - Nintendo has announced the Nintendo World Championships 2017. Qualifiers start on August 19, and the main competition will begin on October 27. July 28, 2017 - The New Nintendo 2DS XL was released in North America and Europe. July 3, 2017 - A Splatoon 2 Direct has been announced to air on July 6, 2017. June 26, 2017 - The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition a smaller version of the console that comes with twenty-one built-in games (including Star Fox 2), has been announced. It is set to release on September 29, 2017. June 22, 2017 - We are pleased to announce that ARMS Institute has joined NIWA as its twenty-fourth member!
