Daiwon, now called Daewon, was a company specializing in localization and distribution of Japanese media in South Korea. Nintendo contracted the company to distribute Nintendo products like the GameCube and its games in Korea to avoid the country's ban on Japanese products at the time. This also included other products such as the Korean versions of Pokémon Gold and Silver (Geum and Eun).
