StarTropics is a Nintendo Entertainment System game and the first game in the StarTropics series. The game was not released in Japan, but was developed by a Japanese team. It is succeeded by Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II.
Gameplay
StarTropics is an action-adventure game featuring Mike Jones, on a journey to visit his uncle and archaeologist Dr. Steven Jones at a fictional island in the South Seas, known as C-Island. After arriving at his house and finding out that he's gone missing, Mike Jones sets off to find him, armed with a yo-yo (star in the Virtual Console version) and Dr. Jones' robot the Nav-Com.
The gameplay features exploration from a top-down perspective and caves in which the player must solve puzzles and defeat enemies.[2]
