e-Cards are interactive cards for use with the e-Reader. These cards can unlock content in games (sometimes requiring a Link Cable and/or Nintendo GameCube with a Game Boy Player), or entire games themselves. This is done by scanning the dot codes on the sides of the card. Sometimes the content/game requires scanning multiple cards.
The e-Reader itself was only released in Japan, North America and Australia. Some Pokémon Trading Cards with e-Reader content were also released in Europe, however.
