The Legendary Starfy is the fifth game in The Legendary Starfy series. It is the first game in the series to be localized into English and released outside of Japan, though it was never released in Europe. Although The Legendary Starfy may not a direct sequel to the previous games, the previous games are mentioned indirectly in The Pufftop Legends.
Story
While Starfy was sleeping in his bed in Pufftop Palace a mysterious rabbit-like creature in a spacesuit crashes through the ceiling. Three shady goons appear to try and capture the creature but Starfy fights them off using his Star Spin.
Starfy wants to help the rabbit-like creature so follows him to the edge of Pufftop. Like in previous games in the series, Moe tries to prevent Starfy from going off the edge, but he manages anyway and falls into the ocean. Starfy and Moe fall into Gluglug Lagoon and hit Big Squiddy, angering him and causing him to grab the rabbit-like creature, so Starfy chases after Big Squiddy to save the rabbit-like creature.
Later in the story, it is revealed that the rabbit-like creature is known as Bunston. It is revealed that Bunston is suffering from amnesia and that special Crystal Shards will help him remember who he is and why he crashed into Pufftop Palace. Starfy and Moe must collect all seven Shards to find out about Bunston's story and confront the three shady goons, known as The Terrible Trio. Later, Starfy and Moe find out that The Terrible Trio really aren't so bad and that there is a much more evil force behind why Bunston crashed...
