Story

In the land of Trodian, the king's court jester Dhoulmagus steals an ancient scepter and casts a spell on the entire castle, turning the king into a troll, the princess into a horse, and everybody else into plants. The protagonist, a guard who was unaffected by the spell, goes on an adventure with a party of other characters to stop Dhoulmagus and undo the curse. However, after defeating Dhoulmagus it is discovered that he was possessed by Rhapthorne, the Lord of Darkness sealed away by seven sages. The player must stop Rhapthorne in order to undo the curse once and for all.
