Picross 3D: Round 2 is a nonogram-based puzzle game developed by HAL Laboratory for Nintendo 3DS, and a follow-up to Picross 3D. Originally released in Japan in late 2015, the title was later brought to the west exclusively as a digital download on the Nintendo eShop in late 2016.
Blurb
"A fresh new layer of paint—and strategy! Chip away at a three-dimensional block puzzle to reveal the object hidden within. Only this time, blocks can be painted with two colors of paint to mold detailed shapes. Enjoy more than 300 puzzles at the Café or even tap compatible amiibo™ figures to solve 10 more puzzles hiding secret Nintendo characters!"
Gameplay
The overall gameplay is similar to the preceding game, taking the normal picross gameplay and translating it into 3D. Players must create 3D shapes by chipping away at blocks and painting over the remaining ones.
This game supports amiibo, allowing players to scan select figures to unlock puzzles based on the character.
