The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is an organization that was created in 1955. It recognizes the advances in art and technology by giving out Emmy Awards.

Awards

In 2006, Nintendo received an Emmy Award for Peripheral Development and Technological Impact of Video Game Controllers for the invention of the D-pad. The Emmy was given to Don James.[1][2]

In 2008, Nintendo received an Emmy for excellence in engineering creativity. Two of their consoles were recognized for winning the award, with the Wii for the motion controls that gathered both casual and veteran gamers, and the Nintendo DS for the touch control screen and dual-screen display [3]
