Story
Kirby is traveling in Dream Land, when he suddenly sees a tomato. Confusing it for a Maxim Tomato, he swallows it. However, a figure made of yarn appears, and it's revealed that said tomato was a Meta Tomato. Enraged, the figure pulls out a sock and Kirby is sucked into it. He gets up after falling into the sock, and notices that he appears different. He then sees a young boy being terrorized by a monster. Kirby tries to swallow the monster, but the wind blows right through him. Pondering what to do, he suddenly turns into a car and saves the boy. The boy thanks Kirby for his help, introduces himself as Prince Fluff, and is swallowed again. Kirby defeats this next monster by turning into an anvil and crushing it. Suddenly, a strand of string comes out of the monster. Prince Fluff exclaims that said piece of string is one of the eight strands of Magic Yarn, which patch Patch Land, the land where Kirby has been put into. The pieces were taken from Yin-Yarn. The two go on a journey, collecting strands of Magic Yarn. After beating Grass Land, the game's first level, Kirby and Prince Fluff are seen near a tree. Kirby tries to get fruit from it, and Prince Fluff tries another way. This blows Kirby off the tree and unwinds him for a bit. The duo then go all the way to other lands. Suddenly, the scene switches to Dedede's castle. King Dedede is giving orders to Waddle Dees when yarn ones start replacing other ones. The duo continue their adventure, and a cutscene of Meta Knight is shown. It is then revealed that both were brainwashed. After beating Meta Knight, Kirby learns that Dream Land has been turned into yarn. He and Prince Fluff go to Dream Land, and fight Yin-Yarn. They beat him once, but his staffs put him back together. A tank fight then commences. The two then are once again victorious. At this point, Kirby and Prince Fluff say goodbye, and the credits roll.
