Parental Controls is a feature on Nintendo 3DS, Wii U and Nintendo Switch which allows users/parents to:[1]
- Restrict the content/games players can access on their console
- Set play time limits.
- Limit or prevent sharing screenshots to social media
- Restrictions on Nintendo eShop purchases (requires a Nintendo Account)
The feature if previously enabled can be disabled using a PIN only the parent is meant to know.
Trivia
- A promotional video was made introducing the feature on Nintendo Switch, starring Bowser and Bowser Jr. using the Parental Controls. It has since gathered over 36 million views (as of August 2020), and has resulted in various Internet memes made by fans.
