What's happening at Nintendo & NIWA September 29, 2017 - Nintendo have announced that the Wii Shop Channel will be discontinued worldwide in 2019. September 29, 2017 - The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition was released in North America, Europe, and Australia. September 13, 2017 - A Nintendo Direct was broadcast, focusing on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS titles launching in the coming months, including Super Mario Odyssey. August 29, 2017 - Nintendo has announced that Miiverse will be shut down on November 7, 2017. Wii U Chat and Nintendo TVii (in Japan) will also be shut down on the same day. August 8, 2017 - Nintendo has announced the Nintendo World Championships 2017. Qualifiers start on August 19, and the main competition will begin on October 27. July 28, 2017 - The New Nintendo 2DS XL was released in North America and Europe.
