WiiConnect24 was an online service provided by Nintendo, allowing communication with the Wii console over the internet even when it was in standby mode. The service was introduced in 2006 and offered various features such as messages, weather information, the news channel, virtual consoles, WiiWare, and more. WiiConnect24 also facilitated data exchange and communication between Wii friends, as well as participation in online games and applications.

In 2013, the service was discontinued after Nintendo released the Wii U, which introduced a new online service called Miiverse. WiiConnect24 represented an early attempt by Nintendo to provide a comprehensive online service for its consoles and had both positive and negative aspects.
