Gameplay
The main game is similar to a crane game, allowing players to earn badges from a variety of themed machines. Players use the claw by holding down the A button to move it into position, and releasing it to have the claw drop and grab anything beneath it and drop it into the hole below. After all their tries are used, players can keep any badges that dropped down. In order to play, players can purchase five "plays" for $1.00. Once per day, players can have five free plays on a practice machine collecting non-keepable badges, though players can earn bonus plays on the actual machine by collecting a bonus badge. The game may also give players a free play to mark an occasion. Players can use their plays on any available machine; they are not restricted to using them all on one.
From the main menu players can press Y to suspend the game and use their badges to decorate the home screen. Players are also able to view their full badge collection by pressing X, and can access a special corner of the Theme Shop and view a Miiverse gallery of screenshots of player's home screens.
