October 24, 2017 - An Animal Crossing Mobile Direct was aired at 8PM PT, focusing exclusively on the upcoming Animal Crossing mobile game. October 7, 2017 - The Nintendo World Championships 2017 event was held in New York, NY. October 5, 2017 - The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition was released in Japan. The system was released in North America, Europe, and Australia on September 29. September 29, 2017 - Nintendo have announced that the Wii Shop Channel will be discontinued worldwide in 2019. September 13, 2017 - A Nintendo Direct was broadcast, focusing on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS titles launching in the coming months, including Super Mario Odyssey. August 29, 2017 - Nintendo has announced that Miiverse will be shut down on November 7, 2017. Wii U Chat and Nintendo TVii (in Japan) will also be shut down on the same day.
