Not private
I think the wiki is not exactly private any more... Tucayo (Talk)

Topics on the main page
Should wikis be posted on the main page? Tacopill 17:11, 21 October 2010 (UTC).
News
What exactly should be put in the news section? A 14:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)
- This is what i see it being:
- N-Wiki Related News
- NIWA Related News
- Any news from any of the members
- Tacopill 16:40, 12 November 2010 (UTC).
- I'd also add important Nintendo-related announcements, like new consoles, news relating to important persons in the company, and other related announcements. Maxite 01:37, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Templates
Something has come to my mind, we have a gazillion of templates, and I wanted to ask, is there really a use for them? Specially all the thousands of color templates we have, that, apparently, are not very useful. Tucayo (Talk)
- Any specifics? Tacopill 04:02, 14 November 2010 (UTC).
Countdown
Been done for a week now... -7 days? HavocReaper48 17:31, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- We currently have no upcoming games to replace it. Do you have any suggestions? Tacopill 19:59, 27 November 2010 (UTC).
- Are these for worldwide releases, or for a specific region? --Vince220 22:16, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- I belive they are regional, since all the dates are for the US (as far as i know). We can modify the template to be region based, if you guys wish. Tacopill 00:15, 28 November 2010 (UTC).
- I was only asking because if it's US-based, you could put in a countdown for Super Mario All Stars 25th Anniversary Edition which comes out on December 12th. --Vince220 01:20, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

copying
I noticed that the Nintendo article was copyed from wikipedia. just thought I'd point that out.
sorry, I manked up on two levels: it wasn from a NIWA wiki not wikipedia and I noticed that is alowed......
- It's not a problem. But still, if you know of anyway we can change it so it's no longer a copy, i encourage you to make an account an edit the page. Tacopill (Talk) 21:42, 11 December 2010 (UTC).
IP addresses
For some reason, every IP Address user editing matches the one I use (75.126.149.175). Is this some sort of glitch? A 23:08, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- Ah-huh! so you're 75.126.149.175; anyway, It is a glitch. Archaic of Bulbapedia (our webmaster) has been made aware of it, and will get it fixed. Thank you for reporting it, Tacopill (Talk) 05:36, 14 December 2010 (UTC).
does niwa have a youtube page???
if not... i have an idea
wellbutrin
Hello! . Why, hello there. Tacopill (Talk) 00:08, 8 February 2012 (UTC).
Is there something wrong with the external links query?
I tried updating my userspace with contact information for Starfy Wiki and some other places (as ordinary external links) such as Youtube where I'm active. As expected, this caused the external links query to appear, though it seems no matter what I enter into the box, the Wiki doesn't let me submit the edit (I entered 'Mario' on the "Who is Nintendo's mascot?" question [no it's Weegee] for the edit submission page to refresh with a different question). Is this a problem for everybody else, or am I the only person to experience this? --Torchickens 23:29, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yea, that extension is broken, and we currently can't find anyone to fix it. We did find someone to upgrade us, but he doesn't have time to fix the extension problems, like the countdown on the subjectpage. So, it is being worked on, and will be fixed as soon as possible. Tacopill (Talk) 00:40, 22 February 2012 (UTC).
- OK. Thanks for the clarifying. Glad to know that it wasn't just me. :) --Torchickens 01:19, 22 February 2012 (UTC)
Spelling Mistake
At the bottom of the NIWA section letting you update the news, the word something is mispelt. Unfortunately I cannot edit the Main Page so I'm asking somebody who can. JORDAN DEBONO 13:18, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Wow...
This wiki doesn't have lots of users right? Insert Pokéname 03:47, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
- It is a bit strapped for users, yes. The main people you'll see around are me and Tacopill, even though I haven't done much lately. I've been a tad busy. Toast ltimatum 20:57, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
Sorry but I have a question...
Does anyone ever change the "Editors Pick" and "Console" sections of the Main page?Insert Pokéname 17:08, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
- As of right now, no they haven't changed. We currently don't have much of a community to choose it. If you are interested, please recommend articles for one or the other, and I can ask the skype group related to this wiki for opinions. Thank you, Tacopill (Talk) 22:41, 22 October 2012 (UTC)
Copying possible?!
Yo what's with This: http://nintendo.wikia.com/wiki/Nintendo_Wiki...?! 1. is this part of this website or a fork 2. Who's ripping (off) Who?! — Mount Pajama (talk) 22:52, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
- 1. Neither. The Wikia (or "Fandom" as it is now known) Nintendo Wiki has no relation to this one.
- 2. Nobody's ripping off anybody.

Creating an account
How do I create an account? 76.7.182.79 13:03, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- General account creation is currently disabled, but I can create one for you. Tacopill (Talk) 18:45, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- I just need a username and email adress. Tacopill (Talk) 18:51, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
The username will be Ben. I am on several wikis. Also, why is account creation disabled? And why do my edits need to be pending review? 76.7.182.79 03:23, 12 November 2018 (UTC)

SEIWA
I'm working on revising the Square Enix Independent Wiki Alliance (SEIWA) and was wondering if this wiki would be interested in applying for membership. If interested, Here's the guidelines to look over. Tacopill (Talk).
- Hmm, what is the Discord consensus so far? I support it joining SEIWA (as one of most active here), as Square Enix had involvements with Nintendo, with also the Dragon Quest series, but unsure what others' input are as NintendoWiki isn't very active anymore. Some of the last active users are User:Toa 95 (though seems to be on another break), with User:Viperision User:Hope(N Forever) adding things not too long ago. From Evie (Torchickens) ✿ 10:37, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
- As of this writing, only Prod said he found the idea funny; but stated nothing for or against it. No one else has said anything. I'm wondering if I should make a post on the forums about it.
- If no one specifically have anything against it, and no consensus is reached, I'm thinking we just go for it, since the benefits outweigh the detriments in my opinion.
- Tacopill (Talk) 14:07, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
- I did a membership vote in SEIWA between "approval", "affiliate" and "reject". The vote resulted in 0-4-0. So, I'll put it the same as other affiliates.
- If Anyone here wants to join the SEIWA Discord server, let me know here or on Discord. We're welcoming any editors from member wikis and affiliates.

Blocked when adding pages that have been deleted
Will anybody who adds pages that have been deleted get blocked?
- Depends on the page, reason it got deleted, etc. I would ask first on each page. Tacopill (Talk) 00:38, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- I'm one of the few staff here, and I don't know if there's a policy like that. It's against the rules to add the content deemed unnotable, but as long as the user doesn't persist in creating it, I'd just give them a gentle reminder, then warning and blocking as last resort. From Evie (Torchickens) ✿ 22:02, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
Editor-in-Chief
Would this wiki benefit from having an Editor-in-Chief?
I can put together a draft policy similar to FEW's & WK's if we think it would work well for us.
Tacopill (Talk) 00:18, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- It would be beneficial to have someone as editor-in-chief to handle the wiki here, and perhaps serve as the representative for NIWA. Though that last part is conflicted to me since this is also the center hub for NIWA wikis and not just Nintendo. -- PanchamBro (talk • contributions) 00:26, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
- It would be great to know who's in the lead of the wiki, as well as to have one to actively coordinate edits, but at this moment the userbase isn't all that big. Kinda related - it would be better to open up more to the public and stop moderating contributions from editors with like 10+ trusted edits. It is evident that wiki's growth is also based on good policies, as seen on WiKirby. --Viperision (talk) 00:31, 1 May 2021 (UTC)
(Controversial?) idea
I had an idea but have mixed thoughts, is it better to just leave it as NintendoWiki? If we changed the name to NTechnicalWiki, it would help clarify we don't make articles on games Nintendo doesn't publish/print/distribute or characters/locations/items/etc., or we do release data, or we do staff, or communities? On the other hand, this would 'fix what isn't broken', require every wiki to update the name, prompt a text replace and check that it doesn't break anything, etc. Thoughts? From Evie (Torchickens) ✿ 20:39, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think that might be more suited for another wiki, or maybe a spinoff. Tacopill (Talk) 02:11, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
Bring back (most) leaks but only if 1 or more year has passed?
This decision to abruptly delete leaks was largely my fault. I'm sorry for damage I've caused. :( This would mean Sutte Hakkun GB, Hello Kitty Pocket Camera get articles, Pokémon Picross (Game Boy Color) might get more information, lots more, and the prototypes that The Cutting Room Floor, etc. find, such as Ageing Cartridges could return. I very want them back now, but only if a) No passwords, no leaked photos of staff (etc.), strictly prohibited b) 1 year or more has passed. Also, some NIWA members cover leaks; we are already not safe, regardless of fair use but if Nintendo tell us to, we can remove them again. Thoughts? ^^ From Evie (Torchickens) ✿ 00:25, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Context: 2018-2020 Nintendo, Microsoft data breaches From Evie (Torchickens) ✿ 00:27, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- I'm fine with that, but we may want to discuss revising the Coverage Policy first. Tacopill (Talk) 02:11, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- I support adding this to our coverage policy. -- PanchamBro (talk • contributions) 02:24, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think we can cover information, but should not directly include footage taken from leaks if possible. Secondly, whatever was documented before leaks should stay, especially if it was covered from news sites, reviews and official websites. --Viperision (talk) 02:27, 2 June 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll restore the articles I deleted. @Tacopill I edited NintendoWiki:Coverage a little. From Evie (Torchickens) ✿ 08:17, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Curious outlier
Should the Chinese 4 in 1: Tetris, Tennis, Alleyway, Yakuman be included? Note this is actually licensed, not a bootleg but by Mani. https://www.giantbomb.com/4-in-1/3030-57563/images/
