Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival is a spin-off board game-style party game in the Animal Crossing series, similar in fashion to the Mario Party series. The game is based upon Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and will feature many of the series' characters as the playable cast in the form of amiibo based upon each character; in addition, while the standalone software will be released for free digitally, retail copies of the game will come bundled with two amiibo figures and three amiibo cards.

Blurb

You party animal!

The Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival game is a brand-new way to play with your favorite Animal Crossing characters. Your amiibo figures are front-and-center in this party game, and you’ll get to use them with fun content. Bring to life an expansive and dynamic board game where the board is based on the months of the year like the core Animal Crossing series. The goal? Make your villager the happiest in town and party hard with your friends.

Features:

  • Party with favorite Animal Crossing characters like Isabelle and Tom Nook—who have become amiibo.
  • Experience the Animal Crossing universe in light-hearted board games based on the calendar, including the four seasons and seasonal events.
  • Bring your amiibo to the party, collect Happy Points, play with your friends, and save your Happy Points to your amiibo to expand your own game even more.
  • Use Animal Crossing amiibo cards in fun minigames.

Gameplay

Gameplay is similar to most Mario Party games. Characters move around the game board by rolling a die, the goal to collect the most "Happy Points". Players are also given Bells, the currency of the Animal Crossing series, which they can gain and lose by landing on certain spaces. Events may also happen at various points in a game.

Players can also transfer over the homes they have designed in Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer.[1]
