Doubutsu no Mori is a Nintendo 64 game, and the first game in the Animal Crossing series. It is compatible with the Expansion Pak. This version of the game was never released outside of Japan (and much later it was released in China), however, an upgraded version of the game was later released for the Nintendo GameCube known as Animal Crossing.

Gameplay[edit]

Like many other later Animal Crossing games, gameplay involves exploring a randomly generated village, interacting with the villagers and fulfilling their requests, and activities such as picking fruit, gardening and growing trees, fishing and fossil hunting.
