Kirby: Battle Royale is a competitive 3D fighting game in the Kirby series. The game was released for Nintendo 3DS in November 2017 in PAL countries and Japan, and later in January 2018 in North America.
Gameplay
In addition to a single-player story mode, Kirby: Battle Royale allows up to four players to compete in battles, either online or locally. Players fight using one of several different Copy Abilities. The game features 10 different battle modes.[1]
Development
During a Nintendo Direct on April 12, 2017, a new "multiplayer action game" in the Kirby series was announced for release in late 2017.[6] Satoshi Ishida of HAL Laboratory would later describe the game in a Miiverse post as an "action fighting game".[7]
