Inkipedia is the twenty-third wiki to join the NIWA network in July 2015, as part of the sixth wave alongside Hard Drop Tetris Wiki. The wiki's primary content is on the Splatoon franchise, covering aspects such as the contents in each game (characters, stages, weapons, etc.), notable tournaments and players, and any spin-off material.
History
The Wikia wiki Splatoon Wiki was originally created by Lumoshi on June 10, 2014, the day of the original announcement of the game at E3 2014. Later, in April 2015, members of Pikipedia approached the community, suggesting that they move to an independent server and join NIWA. The process of moving began May 18, and the wiki was finally officially inducted into NIWA on July 4.
In June of 2016, a French version of the wiki was launched. Later in April 2022, a Spanish version of the wiki was also launched, being a fork of the original contents of Wiki Splatoon from Fandom.
From May 2022 to August 2022, a logo contest was held to determine the new logo for Inkipedia. The winner was ninckvinny, whose logo was later applied on September 8, 2022, close to Splatoon 3's release.
