Hirokazu Tanaka (Japanese: 田中 宏和), nicknames "Hip Tanaka" and "Chip Tanaka", born December 13, 1957[1] is the president of Creatures, Inc. and a Nintendo music veteran; chip-sound/BGM composer, anime/general composer, engineer. Some works closely associated with him are the EarthBound series, Chee-Chai Alien, Pokémon series (anime), Metroid series, Fire Emblem series, Wars series, Super Mario Land, Balloon Kid, Kid Icarus, arcade games such as Donkey Kong (game), Space Firebird and Space X, Wrecking Crew, Gyromite and many more.

He has also worked for non-Nintendo products including those on Nintendo platforms.

On a more personal topic, Tanaka-san has released his own commercial albums as well; and was never restricted to Nintendo.
