Kuruma de DS (meaning: DS in the Car) is Japan-only Nintendo DS software to be used with car navigation systems using bluetooth. The game was designed with long drives and traffic jams in mind, to make them less boring.

Content

Gameplay adjusts as the player drives, similar to later Nintendo games with GPS functionality, such as Pokémon GO (although not for driving).

Kuruma de DS is designed to be used directly with a GPS, such as ECLIPSE AVN-ZX02i in Toyota's "Prius", "Alphard", and "Vellfire" cars, as well as Honda's "FIT" series of cars.[3].

Using Kuruma de DS and a Nintendo DS, players can control the mapping system.[4].

The software also includes Miis and a Mii Maker. In Kuruma de DS, characters provide local quizzes (ご当地クイズ), hand-drawn map notes, and tourist information. It also features voice synthesis similar to the game Tomodachi Collection.
