Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World is a Nintendo 3DS port of the Wii U title Yoshi's Woolly World. The game is slated for release in Japan in January 2017, and in February 2017 worldwide.
Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World will launch alongside a yarn Poochy amiibo, which will also be released in bundles with the game.
Gameplay
This version of the game features every stage available in the Wii U release, as well as additional new stages based on Poochy. In these stages, players run along a set path toward the goal, collecting as many beads as possible. Another new feature for this version is the addition of Poochy Pups, small dogs that help Yoshi find secrets by indication suspicious areas.[2] Players can also scan the Poochy amiibo while playing a stage to have him appear and assist.[5] Unlike the original, this version of the game will not include multiplayer.[6]
In addition to the in-game Yoshi patterns, players will also be able to create their own custom Yoshi patterns.[7] The Yoshi pattern editor includes two both easy and advanced settings for creating Yoshi designs.[6]
As a bonus feature, this version contains 30 stop-motion animated shorts featuring Poochy and Yoshi, animated by Dwarf.[2]
Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World runs at 60 frames per second when played on a New Nintendo 3DS system, and at 30 frames per second when playing on the original hardware.[6]
