Dinosaur Planet is the basis of and former name of the game which became Star Fox Adventures for Nintendo GameCube. It was in development for Nintendo 64.
Summary
Formally Starfox Adventures did not feature Star Fox characters but had original protagonists instead, although Krystal was an original Dinosaur Planet design, who was changed and became a Star Fox character later. In this game Fox was originally a character known as Sabre, and Sabre had a father known as Randorn who was also Krystal's adoptive father.
The game was converted into Star Fox Adventures halfway in development following Shigeru Miyamoto's suggestion to make it into a Star Fox interview. Shigeru Miyamoto has stated that the characters Fox and Sabre are visually similar.
In the final game, Dinosaur Planet also known as Sauria is the main setting of the story.
