What's happening at Nintendo & NIWA
- March 3, 2016 - In the latest Nintendo Direct, Star Fox Zero was reconfirmed to launch in April, while Star Fox Guard was announced to be released alongside it. Splatoon and Super Mario Maker were confirmed to be receiving additional content updates. The Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games was announced to be released in June 2016. Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE was confirmed to have a June 2016 release. Paper Mario: Color Splash was revealed with a 2016 release date. Details for the My Nintendo system were given. In North America, Mini Mario & Friends amiibo Challenge was announced with a March release. New Animal Crossing amiibo were announced to be released in June. SNES games were announced to be released on Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console exclusively for New Nintendo 3DS systems. Pocket Card Jockey was announced to be released in the west in May 2016. DLC for Fire Emblem Fates and Hyrule Warriors Legends was announced. Metroid Prime: Federation Force was announced to be released in late spring. Rhythm Heaven Megamix was announced to be released in the west. Kirby: Planet Robobot was revealed with a June release, while a set of Kirby amiibo were also announced.
- February 26, 2016 - In the Pokémon Direct, Pokémon Sun and Moon were announced, with a Holiday 2016 release.
- February 19, 2016 - Nintendo New York (formerly the Nintendo World Store) has reopened after a one month renovation.
- February 17, 2016 - Sign-ups for the Nintendo Account service have launched worldwide.
- February 12, 2016 - Nintendo of America have announced that 4 Wii, Nintendo 3DS, and Wii U titles (twelve total) will be reprinted under the Nintendo Selects line on March 11.
- February 3, 2016 - Nintendo have outlined plans for the launch of Miitomo, and with it the Nintendo Account and My Nintendo services.
