What's happening at Nintendo & NIWA

- August 27, 2024 - An Indie World showcase immediately followed by a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase was broadcast, primarily featuring games launching later in 2024.
- August 22, 2024 - Both Chibi-Robo! Wiki and the French Inkipédia have officially joined NIWA!
- August 19, 2024 - A Nintendo Museum Direct was broadcast, showing a brief tour of the upcoming Nintendo Museum in Kyoto.
- July 17, 2024 - After a teaser trailer was shared the week prior, Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club was officially revealed, releasing on August 29 for Nintendo Switch.
- June 18, 2024 - A Nintendo Direct was broadcast, primarily focusing on Nintendo Switch titles launching in the second half of 2024. Announcements included Mario & Luigi: Brothership, releasing in November 2024; an HD remaster of Donkey Kong Country Returns, releasing in January 2025; Super Mario Party Jamboree, releasing in October 2024; The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, releasing in September 2024; The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords, Metroid: Zero Mission, Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, and Perfect Dark being added to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack serivce; and a trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, planned for release in 2025.
- May 24, 2024 - Nintendo has announced that it plans to open a second US store, Nintendo San Fransicso, in 2025

Pokémon Gold Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター金 Pocket Monsters Kin, literally Pocket Monsters Gold) and Pokémon Silver Version (Japanese: ポケットモンスター銀 Pocket Monsters Gin, literally Pocket Monsters Silver) were the fifth and sixth Pokémon games released, beginning the second generation of the Pokémon series.
Developed as a sequel to Pokémon Red and Green, Gold and Silver expanded the Pokémon world westward into the region of Johto, where 100 Pokémon not appearing in the earlier games could be found.
