PictoChat is software preinstalled with Nintendo consoles in the Nintendo DS family, developed by Nintendo Software Technology. It is not included in the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo Switch family of consoles, though the application Swapnote allows for similar features.

PictoChat is basically an offline wireless messaging system for at least two Nintendo DS systems which have selected it from the firmware menu. In addition to writing text, players can draw pictures and send the messages to other users. Messages sent through PictoChat appear on a continuous vertical feed on the top screen.

The software can be used with one Nintendo DS system, however no one will be able to receive the messages.
