Famicom Bunko: Hajimari no Mori (Famicom Literature: Forest of Beginnings) is a 1999 text adventure game for the Super Famicom, originally exclusively available from the Nintendo Power cartridge service.
On July 17, 2007 the game was released on the Japanese Wii Shop Channel Virtual Console. On August 21, 2013, the game became available as a downloadable Virtual Console title on Japanese Wii U Nintendo eShop.
Story
The game features a nameless boy who decides to take a train to see his grandfather at Kuzunoki Village after his school vacation. Behind the railway tracks, he meets a mysterious girl in a forest, who he then befriends. The boy, after losing her, sets off to find her on an adventure, interacting with various people along the way, including a group of friends who were cruel to him originally.
