Nookipedia is an independent wiki and NIWA member focusing on the Animal Crossing series.

The wiki also has its own dedicated message board for both fan and Wiki discussion, known as The Bulletin Board.

History

The original Animal Crossing Wiki was started by Template:Acw on July 12, 2010, as an extension of Animal Crossing Forums (also founded by him). Soon after, the wiki was made an NIWA affiliate.

Later in the year, a database issue forced the wiki to be closed. A new version of Animal Crossing Wiki, separate from Animal Crossing Forums, was opened on October 23, 2010.

In 2010, Template:Acw, another independent Animal Crossing wiki which had originally started in 2005 as a Wikia wiki before splitting from Wikia in 2010, approached NIWA. Animal Crossing City agreed to merge with Animal Crossing Wiki, keeping the latter's name. Animal Crossing Wiki was later made an official NIWA member on November 19, 2010.

On December 31, 2010, Animal Crossing Wiki was officially renamed to Nookipedia, alongside the launch of a new site skin.
